The Hope Strategy Podcast

Jul 29, 2020

Lo and Tanner Beeston share their insights as content creators and new parents on the Journey from their individual jobs to making a living full time as Influencers. They share their story of  meeting during high school, Lo’s start in Videography, their decision to move to Hawaii and the challenges they have faced to create both the life they want and their desire to be authentic as influencers. This episode is a focus on being genuine, positive and hard working even when others tell you to “stop trying” or “you won't make it”.

Highlighted Quotes

“Authenticity”

“In the beginning I was so worried about “what are they going to think?” I would just try and hide little things... Until I started showing who I was and posting what I felt like I wanted to post and sharing what I wanted to share and forgetting about what other people thought... that's when I started seeing success.”

“Being yourself”

“A few months ago we really had to sit down and just say… What is our main priority? Are we just trying to play catch up with the other thousand influencers that we look up to? Or are we actually doing what we love to do... and if they didn't exist would we still do what we're doing?.”

“Choose your circle”

Nobody around me in Utah was anywhere near doing anything with Instagram… it was looked down upon, I almost felt like dumb if I let it shine. It was such a breath of fresh air coming out to Hawaii and not being made fun of when I went to take a picture for Instagram. I remember telling Tanner ‘it's so cool that I can take a picture and not feel like somebody is judging me…’ all I wanted to do was document our lives and make really cool videos and take these really cool pictures, and it was really cool to see that my friends were doing the same thing and was encouraging it instead of making me feel like it was dumb.
